The limestone on this bay has gone through 500 million years of formation in different conditions and environments. The core of the bay has an area of 334 km2 with a high density of 775 islets. The Bay comes with a area of around 1,553 km2, including 1,960 islets, a few of which are limestone. Ha Long Bay is often a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as a popular travel destination, in Quang Ninh Province, Vietnam. The evolution in the karsts within this bay has brought 20 million years under the impact with the tropical wet climate. It's not the cliffs themselves that will make Ha Long Bay unique, but instead their sheer number. A huge bay, dotted with nearly 2,000 mostly uninhabited limestone cliffs, the breathtaking surroundings are very similar to that of the Andaman coast of Thailand, Vang Vieng in Laos and Guilin in China.
