Kensington is among the most busy parts of London. It has many malls, restaurants, clubs, and museums than you can shake a stick at. Which explains why, first-time tourist, you should consider booking at one of the Kensington hotels for the New Year. You’ll be at the centre of everything. If you’re hunting for a patch of green amidst the hurly-burly of the city, it is simple to visit Hyde Park or Kensington Gardens.
Since you’re visiting Kensington for the first time, one of the first things you must do is to choose which of the numerous Kensington hotels is good for your lodgings. • The Royal Albert Hall
o The Royal Albert Hall of Arts and Sciences is probably the most famous concert as well as exhibit halls in the UK. Queen Victoria dedicated this (as well as the Albert Memorial) to her deceased husband. The Royal Albert Hall hosts an average of 350 events yearly. Some of its regular shows include the BBC Proms and the Cirque de Soleil; a number of well-known videos also hold their premieres here. Even if there’s no show, you must still check out the lavish classical structures.
• Kensington High Street
o The heart of the area and home to several Kensington hotels, shops, et cetera. Kensington High Street is one of the busiest places in Greater London and houses various big-time companies. This is actually the perfect spot to shop ‘til you drop.
• Kensington Roof Gardens
o Just one of the biggest roof gardens in the world. Kensington Roof Gardens can be used from Kensington High Street through the old Derry & Toms mall (which now houses Marks & Spencer, Gap, and H&M). Here you can find a Spanish-style lawn, a Tudor-style lawn, and an English woodland garden. The woodland yard has over 30 kinds of trees, a feat given that these trees only have a meter of soil in which to grow. The Gardens also has a clubhouse and a restaurant.
Some other well known vacation destinations include the Royal College of Music, the Natural Science Museum, the Science Museum, and the Albert and Victoria Museum. Kensington is a truly history and (dare we say it?) romantic place that’s full of life. Choose your hotels between one of the numerous Kensington hotels and start vacationing. Have a good time!
