In basketball, rebounds are constantly occurring, so this is something that should be practiced in drills. No matter who is shooting the ball, the player, his teammates, or opposing team members, any shot can miss and so players must be ready to grab that ball immediately. This is a mental and physical exercise that requires constantly alertness. Rebounding drills can be worked using the wall or the backboard. Rebounding is what makes basketball so unlike any other sport, as it makes the game very fast, and the only way to maintain the speed and rigors of the sport is to practice constantly.
So now you know another component of scoring better at your weekend golf game. Just regularly work the following exercises into your daily routines: 1) a generic strength training program; 2) some simple stretching exercises; 3) a dedicated golf fitness program; and 4) increase your stamina. Of course, if the time comes that these exercises become too easy, you can stretch yourself further by training at a good gym. Remember that better strength, flexibility and stamina leads to a better game of golf.
Basketball drills should always work on jumping skills, because that's one of the most crucial movements in the entire game. The person's height and ability level will have a hand in how high he can jump, but jump height can be improved with enough practice. Vertical jumping is crucial for dunking the ball and also for defense.
Drill Type 4-Two Ball Drills- Dribbling a ball in each hand will help you develop the ambidexterity needed to perform crossovers & drive to the hoop from either hand. We are almost all born with a dominant left or right hand. Practice & repetition with the weak hand can help bring it up to speed. A player with a strong drive to one side will soon be forced to his weak hand by defenders. The goal here is to be strong with your dribble with both hands. When you can dribble equally with both hands, crossovers, between the leg & behind the back dribbling become a breeze. You'll be able to shake defenders & create your own shots with your dribble.
Two on One: Advance the ball against two imaginary defenders to practice various ball maneuvers. This drill is more effective than one might think. It is a good practice technique and can help prepare any player for the time when two defenders are actually there.
Top basketball drills are great drills for pulling together everything players have learned. They aren't drills you will use much at the beginning of the pre-season, when you are teaching and reinforcing basic skills. But you will need them later on, as the season grows nearer and as your players' skills have improved to the point where it is time to teach them how to use those skills in game situations.
This one is big. But don't just have a partner pass the ball to you. Have your partner put pressure on you when you shoot. Have your partner put a hand in your face. Have a partner close out on you. This will help to make you a better shooter in the games and when defenders give you the slightest bit of room, you'll be able to bury shots.
Keepaway: With a group of 3 or more, play a game of keepaway; instead of passing the ball, dribble up and down the court with the "monkey" attempting to steal the ball from the offensive keepers.
